# Finding Your Neighbors in the Member Directory

Look up residents and community leaders, see the contact details they share, message or call them, and print the directory.

The **Community Members** page is your community's member directory. Use it to look up a neighbor, find your community leaders, and get in touch with the people who live around you.

## **Who can do this**

Residents can use the directory and open member profiles by default. What you see depends on your community's settings and on what each member has chosen to share.

Some options may be unavailable or appear differently depending on your level of account access.

## **Open the directory**

1. Log in to Communitrak at [https://app.communitrak.com](https://app.communitrak.com).

2. In the main navigation menu, expand **Members & Groups** and click **Community Members**.

## **Find someone**

Tabs across the top narrow the list. The number on each tab is how many people it holds.

- **All** shows everyone listed in the directory. People who have been invited but haven't set up their account yet aren't listed until they do.

- **Active** shows only members with active accounts.

- **Leaders** shows the members your community has marked as community leaders, such as board members.

Type in the **Search** box to filter by name, address, role, title, email, or phone number. Use the sort menu to order the list by **First Name**, **Last Name**, **Address**, **Role**, **Title**, **Email**, or **Phone**.

Each person appears once, even if they own more than one property in the community. Their first address is shown, followed by **+1 more** (or however many) that you can hover over to see the rest.

A green check badge next to someone's role means they are a community leader.

## **What contact details you'll see**

Each member decides which of their details other residents can see. When someone has chosen not to share their email or phone number, the directory shows **Private** in its place. On their profile, a hidden detail reads **Not available**.

Members can also leave the directory entirely, in which case they don't appear in the list or in search results. Community leaders always appear.

> **Info:** **Note:** Until you verify your own email address, other members' contact details show as Private, except for the people in your own household. Once your email is verified, you'll see whatever each member has chosen to share.

To choose what others see about you, open **My Account**, click **Manage Account**, and use the **Privacy Preferences** card.

## **Get in touch**

- Click a member's email address and choose **Communitrak Message** to message them inside Communitrak, or **Email** to write from your own email app.

- Click a phone number to call it from your phone.

- Open a member's profile and click **Send Message**.

Messaging inside Communitrak works even when someone keeps their email address private, because the message is delivered for you without either of you seeing the other's address.

## **Change the columns or phone layout**

On a computer, click **Columns** to choose which of **Role**, **Title**, **Email**, and **Phone** appear in the table. Your community picks the starting columns, and **Reset to Default** puts them back. Your choice follows you to every device you sign in on.

On a phone, the list shows cards instead of a table. Tap **View** to pick a layout:

- **Directory** shows contact details on every card.

- **Contact** adds **Call** and **Email** buttons to each card.

- **Compact** fits the most names on the screen.

## **Print the directory**

1. Choose the tab you want, and search if you only want some members.

2. Click **Print**.

3. Under **Columns to include**, tick the details you want on the page. Name and address always print.

4. Click **Print**.

The printout includes every member on the tab, not only the ones on the current page of the list, and it follows the same privacy rules as the screen.

## **View a member's profile**

Click a member's name or photo to open their profile. Depending on what they share and what your community allows, you'll see:

- Their photo, name, and title, their community role, and whether they are **Head of Household** or a **Household Member**.

- A row of properties, if they own more than one in the community. Click one to switch to that property.

- **Contact Information**: email, mobile phone, property address, mailing address, and any additional contact information they've chosen to share.

- **Household Members**: the other people in their household. Click a name to open that person's profile.

- **Group Memberships**: the member groups they belong to.

- **Quick Info**, with the date they joined, and a map of their property if they share their address.

When you open the profile of someone in your own household, you'll also see your household's **Amount Due**, **Financial Status**, **Payment Method**, and **Auto Pay** in Quick Info, and their **Recent Transactions**, if your community uses Communitrak for payments.

A member who has turned off **Show Me in Directory** doesn't appear in the list, in other people's Household Members, or by direct link to their profile, unless they live in your household.

If you are a Head of Household, you can change the household role of the other people in your household from their profile, and cancel an invitation that hasn't been accepted yet. See **Managing Your Household** for details.

## **Things to know**

- To change your own name, photo, or contact details, use **My Account**, not the directory.

- Someone who has moved out, or whose account has been deactivated, no longer appears in the directory.

- Being marked as a community leader doesn't give someone extra access in Communitrak. It means they appear on the **Leaders** tab and the Dashboard, they always appear in the directory, and you can message them even if your community limits messages between residents.

- If you don't see **Community Members** in the main navigation menu, your community hasn't given your role access to the directory.
