The Messages module is how you communicate with other members of your community in Communitrak. You can send messages to individuals, groups, or the entire community, and manage your conversations from a central inbox.
All community members can access the Messages page and read messages sent to them. Sending new messages requires the Send New Message permission. Replying requires the Reply to Messages permission. Some options may be unavailable or appear differently depending on your level of account access.
Log in to Communitrak at https://app.communitrak.com.
Click Messages in the main navigation menu.
The page has a sidebar on the left with folder navigation and the message list on the right. The notification badge on the Messages menu item shows your unread count.

Your Personal Inbox has three folders:
Messages: your main inbox with all active conversations.
Important: messages that have been marked as important.
Archived: conversations you've archived. Archived messages are hidden from your main inbox but not deleted.
Each folder shows an unread count badge when there are unread messages.
Click the search icon in the message list header to open the search bar. Type your query and press Enter to search across message content, subjects, and sender names.
Click the eye icon to toggle the unread only filter, which hides messages you've already read. Click the refresh icon to reload your inbox.
Click any message thread in the list to open it. The conversation view shows:
The subject line at the top.
A list of all participants.
Each message in the thread with the sender's name, avatar, timestamp, and message body.
Read receipts showing whether your message was delivered and read. In one-on-one conversations, the status appears as "Read," "Delivered," "Sent," or "Not delivered." In group conversations, click the receipt link to see delivery details for each recipient.
Click the back arrow to return to your inbox.
Click New Message in the sidebar.
Select one or more recipients. You can choose:
Individual community members (search by name).
Groups your community has set up (requires the Send Message to Groups permission).
All Members (requires the Send Message to Everyone permission).
All Leaders (requires the Send Message to Leaders permission).
Choose a reply option to control how recipients can respond:
In Thread: replies stay in the same conversation visible to all participants.
New Thread: each reply creates a separate one-on-one conversation between you and the person replying. This is useful for announcements where you want private responses.
No replies: recipients cannot reply to the message.
Enter a Subject (up to 120 characters).
Write your message using the rich text editor.
Click Send Message.

Open the conversation you want to reply to.
Click Reply.
Write your reply in the editor.
Click Send Reply.
If the conversation has multiple participants, your reply goes to all of them (reply-all). In some cases, the original sender may have set the thread to create private replies, in which case your reply starts a new one-on-one conversation with the sender instead. A notice in the reply dialog will tell you which mode applies.
This requires the Delete Message permission.
Archiving a conversation moves it out of your main inbox and into the Archived folder. The conversation is not deleted and can be restored at any time.
To archive: open the conversation and click Archive.
To restore: go to the Archived folder, open the conversation, and click Restore.
Communitrak tracks whether your messages have been delivered and read.
Sent: the message has been sent.
Delivered: the message reached the recipient (via email or the app).
Read: the recipient opened the message. The read method (email or app) is noted when available.
Not delivered: the message could not be delivered, typically due to an email suppression (bounce or spam complaint).
In group conversations, click the delivery status link on any message to open a detailed breakdown showing each recipient's delivery and read status.
Messages are accessible even if your household is inactive. Unlike most other modules, you can still read and reply to messages when your membership is inactive.
The pagination at the bottom of the inbox defaults to 20 messages per page. You can change this to 10 or 50.
Group conversations show a participant count badge in the message list so you can tell at a glance how many people are in the thread.
If a recipient's email address has been suppressed (due to bounces or spam complaints), their delivery status will show as "Not delivered" with a suppression indicator in the receipts dialog.
If you have questions or need help, chat with Communitrak Support from any page using the messenger icon in the bottom-right corner.
