Requests let you report issues, ask for community services, or submit property modifications for review. Once submitted, you can track the status of your request, add comments, upload supporting files, and receive updates as leaders work on it.
Submitting a request requires the Create Request permission unless the request creation is done through a form action. All community members can view and track their own requests. Some options may be unavailable or appear differently depending on your level of account access.
Log in to Communitrak at https://app.communitrak.com.
In the main navigation menu, expand Requests and click the type you want to view:
General for community services and general inquiries.
Maintenance for repairs and maintenance needs.
Architectural for property modifications that require board approval.
Available request types depend on which modules your community has enabled. A notification badge on the Requests menu item shows the number of pending requests.

There are three types of requests, each suited for a different purpose:
General: Community services or general inquiries.
Maintenance: Report maintenance issues or request repairs.
Architectural: Submit requests for property modifications that require approval. Architectural requests follow a different workflow. Instead of being marked as completed, they are approved or rejected.
Click New Request in the top-right corner of any requests page.
If you navigated from a specific type (General, Maintenance, or Architectural), the Request Type is pre-selected. Otherwise, choose a type by clicking one of the three buttons.
Enter a Title for the request. This field is required.
Under Select Impact Area, choose where the request applies:
Household: Select a specific household from the dropdown.
Amenity: Select a community amenity.
Other: Enter a free-text description of the area (e.g., "Main entrance" or "Parking lot B").
Add an optional Description using the rich text editor. Describe the issue, location, or any relevant details.
Optionally set a Requested Completion Date to indicate when you would like the request addressed.
Click Create Request.

The Forms module allows you to create forms that automatically generate a new request or violation when submitted.
Communities often use forms for resident-submitted requests because they provide more control over the information collected. The standard request creation flow is intentionally general, while forms can be customized for specific request types, requirements, and supporting details.
To require residents to submit new requests through a form, remove the Create Request permission from the general member role. If you use this setup, we recommend enabling the Forms & Polls Banner setting in the Requests section of Community Preferences. This displays a banner on the Requests page directing members to submit new requests through the Forms & Polls module instead of the regular “New Request” button.
After submitting a request, you are taken to the request detail page. You can also return to this page at any time by clicking on the request card from the requests list.
A color-coded banner at the top of the detail page shows the current status of your request:
Pending (yellow): The request is open and awaiting action.
Past Due (red): The request is still pending but has passed its deadline.
Completed (green): The request has been resolved.
Approved (green): The architectural request has been approved.
Rejected (red): The architectural request has been rejected.
Deleted (gray): The request has been soft-deleted.
Below the status banner, the detail page displays:
The request title.
A metadata grid showing the target, impact area, opened date, and either the deadline or closed date.
The full description.
The name and avatar of the person who created the request.
The Comments section lets you communicate with leaders and other watchlist members about the request. Each comment shows the author, their avatar, and a timestamp. Type your comment in the text field and submit it to add it to the thread.
The Attached Files section shows all files uploaded to the request. You can upload new files (up to 10 MB each) by clicking Add. Image files display a thumbnail preview. Each file entry shows the file name, size, upload date, and who uploaded it.
The Activity section provides a chronological log of everything that has happened on the request: when it was opened, updated, completed, approved, rejected, deleted, reopened, when comments were added or removed, when files were uploaded or deleted, and when watchlist members changed.

The Requests module must be enabled in your community's preferences for the menu items to appear. Each request type (General, Maintenance, Architectural) can be enabled or disabled independently.
Architectural requests use Approve and Reject instead of Complete. You will see an Approved or Rejected status rather than Completed.
You can view only your own requests. Leaders with the View Community Requests permission can see all requests across the community.
When a request targets a household, the members of that household are automatically added to the watchlist.
Your community may configure a Forms & Polls banner on the requests page directing you to submit requests through a form instead of the standard New Request flow.
