Some communities control their gates, pool doors, and clubhouse entrances through Communitrak. If yours does, you open those doors with a credential your community gives you: an access card you tap on the reader, a PIN you type on the keypad, or a Touch Pass on your phone or Apple Watch. This article explains where to see what you've been given and what to do when something isn't working.
Who can do this
Any resident whose community uses Communitrak Access Control. Credentials are set up by your community's leaders. You can't request or add one yourself in Communitrak, so if you need one, ask them.
Some options may be unavailable or appear differently depending on your level of account access.
See your access
Log in to Communitrak at https://app.communitrak.com.
On your Dashboard, find the My Access card.
The card shows two things:
My Credentials: the access cards and Touch Passes assigned to you, by name, and a PIN entry if a PIN has been set up for you.
Below that, each amenity and how you get in. An amenity marked Communitrak Access lists the doors or gates that belong to it, and you open those with your credential. Other amenities may show a keypad code or your household PIN instead, if your community shares codes on the Dashboard.
If you haven't been given anything yet, the card says No access yet.
Opening a door
Access card: hold the card flat against the reader until it unlocks.
PIN: enter your 6-digit PIN on the reader's keypad.
Touch Pass: hold your phone or Apple Watch near the reader, the same way you'd pay with it.
Having a credential doesn't mean every door opens at every hour. Your community decides which doors you can use and when, so a door can refuse you outside its hours, such as a pool gate overnight, even though your card works during the day.
If something isn't working
A door won't open: check whether it's within that amenity's hours. If it should be open, tell your community's leaders which door and roughly what time. They can check that door's activity log.
You lost your card or phone: tell your community's leaders right away. They can switch off the lost card or suspend the Touch Pass so nobody else can use it, and turn it back on if it turns up.
You forgot your PIN: leaders can't look up a PIN once it's saved, but they can set a new one for you.
Someone new moved in: each person needs their own credential. Ask your leaders to set one up for them once they've been added to your household.
Things to know
Your access belongs to you, not your household. Your card or Touch Pass is assigned to your name, and door activity is recorded under your name.
When you move out and your membership ends, your access stops automatically. Hand back any access cards so they can be given to someone else.
Changes your leaders make, like a new card or new hours, usually reach the doors within a few seconds.
