Communitrak has optional AI tools that help you write and catch up faster. You can polish a post or message, have a subject written for you, draft a reply, get a short summary of a long conversation, and fill in your pet's details from a photo. Wherever you see the sparkle icon, AI can help. AI never sends or posts anything for you: you decide whether to use what it wrote.
Who can do this
Everyone in the community can use these tools anywhere they can already write or view. Your community's leaders decide whether AI features are turned on. If you don't see any sparkle icons, your community has turned them off. When your leaders turn AI off or back on, the change reaches you within a few minutes, even if you're already signed in.
Some options may be unavailable or appear differently depending on your level of account access.
Improve your writing
The formatted text editor, the one with a toolbar that you use for bulletin board posts, messages, replies, and requests, has a sparkle button in its toolbar.
Write your text. To change only part of it, select that part.
Click the sparkle button in the editor toolbar.
Choose what to do: Improve writing, Fix spelling & grammar, Shorten, Lengthen, Rephrase, or Change tone to Professional, Friendly, or Direct.
Review the AI suggestion. Click Accept to use it, Regenerate for another version, or Discard to keep what you had.
Generate a subject
When you write a new message or bulletin board post, write the body first, then click the sparkle button next to the subject. Communitrak writes a subject from what you wrote, and you can edit it before you send.
Draft a reply
Open a message and click Reply.
Click the sparkle button next to Your Reply.
Edit the draft so it says what you mean, then send it.
The draft is based on the conversation so far, so read it before you send, especially names, dates, and amounts.
Summarize a long conversation
Message threads and your requests have a summary box at the top. Click Summarize for a short paragraph covering what it's about, where it stands, and what's still open.
Once a thread has five or more messages, or a request has five or more comments, the summary appears automatically when you open it. A summary is shared with everyone who can see that thread or request, and it updates when new replies come in.
Pets
Add a pet from a photo: when you add a pet and upload its photo, Communitrak fills in its type, breed, color, and description from the photo. It only fills in fields you've left empty. Check the details before you save.
Found a Pet?: in the Pet Directory, take or upload a photo of a loose pet, and Communitrak compares it with the pets in the directory to suggest likely owners. The photo is only used to look for a match and isn't saved unless you send it to an owner.
Things to know
AI can be wrong. Read what it wrote before you accept or send it.
AI never sends, posts, or changes anything on its own. You always choose whether to use a suggestion.
Communitrak's AI features are powered by Claude, from Anthropic. When you use one, the text or photo involved is sent to Anthropic to produce the result. Anthropic's commercial policy says it doesn't use that information to train its models unless it's submitted as feedback or otherwise authorized.
If an AI button is grayed out, hover over it. Your community may have reached its AI limit for now, and the tooltip says when AI is available again. Everything else keeps working, and you can always write it yourself.
If you have questions or need help, chat with Communitrak Support from any page using the messenger icon in the bottom-right corner.
