In Communitrak, keeping your files organized and easily identifiable is essential for smooth community operations. There may be occasions when a file needs to be renamed for clarity, to reflect updated content, or to correct a typo. Follow these steps to rename any file in your community's Files module.
This article assumes you have already uploaded a file to the Files module.
Step 1: Locate the File to Be Renamed
Find the File: Begin by navigating to the Files section within Communitrak. Scroll through the list or use the search function to quickly locate the file you wish to rename.
Step 2: Access File Renaming Options
Open File Options: Look for the three dots at the far right of the file's tile. Clicking on these dots will reveal a menu with various options related to the file, including sharing, editing, renaming, and deleting.
Step 3: Select Rename File
Select "Rename File": From the pop-up menu, choose "Rename File." This action will open a dialog box prompting you to enter a new name for the file.
Step 4: Rename the File & Save
Enter a New Name: In the dialog box, type in the new name you wish to give the file. Be sure to name the file something descriptive and precise, so it's easily recognizable and searchable by other community members.
Confirm the Change: After typing the new name, click "OK" to apply the changes. The file's name will be immediately updated in the Files section, reflecting the new title you've provided.
